Welcome to the Motion Magnet Ep.07

Welcome back to the latest roundup of exceptional content and CG news and resources from across the internet. After a short break MOTION MAGNET is back. Hope you enjoy the content I’ve put together for you.

OFFF 2024 happened and it was great fun!

I make it a point to attend OFFF every year. It feels like home to me, a place where I connect with my tribe—people who share my enthusiasm for Art, Design, Animation, 3D, and more. It's three days filled with geeking out, good food, and beer 🙂 and I LOOOVE Barcelona.

Early Bird tickets for OFFF 2025 now available btw! Let me know if you’re going and we can meet there!

On another news, I've been having a blast cooking up some awesome texture packs for Cinema 4D and Houdini, and guess what? They're almost ready to make their big debut! I have so much fun creating shaders.

I’ll be launching two packs: Artist’s Ceramics Materials Pack and Portuguese Azulejo Tiles Pack — Both packs will have Redshift C4D, Redshift Houdini and Material X versions. They are all 4k PBR Textures so you’ll be able to use them in any DCC.

I’ll make sure to update you on the release date. Follow me on Insta and X to keep updated!

Finally! I've launched a new Subscriber Area on my Behance page where you can explore some of my shaders and expect some goodies every month. These shaders aren't included in the upcoming packs, but they're of the same high quality, giving you a taste of what's to come when the packs are released.

SpatialTracker: Tracking Any 2D Pixels in 3D Space

SpatialTracker is a method for recovering dense and long-range pixel motion in videos that estimates point trajectories in 3D space to mitigate issues caused by image projection. It lifts 2D pixels to 3D using monocular depth estimators, represents the 3D content of each frame efficiently using a triplane representation, and performs iterative updates using a transformer to estimate 3D trajectories. This allows for the use of as-rigid-as-possible (ARAP) constraints and the learning of a rigidity embedding that clusters pixels into different rigid parts. SpatialTracker outperforms existing methods in challenging scenarios such as out-of-plane rotation. It also identifies different rigid parts in the scene by clustering their 3D trajectories and can be used for camera pose estimation in dynamic scenes.
